White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios delivered remarks at a summit titled “Science: A New Golden Age,” touting a list of programs including NSF's X-Labs funding, a Genesis Mission super intelligence initiative, Artemis moon plans, and a fusion energy roadmap. He described these as fulfilling a three-part mandate from President Trump to extend technological leadership, spread technology's benefits, and revitalize research.
Kratsios cited a Kyoto Vision statement endorsed by 17 countries and announced that the summit itself would unveil a further suite of initiatives beyond what has already been announced.
The remarks leaned heavily on superlatives, calling the effort the most comprehensive science partnership since World War II, while offering few specifics on funding mechanisms, oversight, or measurable outcomes beyond dollar figures and target years.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When a man tells you his project is the biggest thing since World War II, ask to see the receipts before you clap. A summit that announces it will announce more announcements is a lot like a fellow who keeps promising to fix your porch steps next Saturday, every Saturday. Dollar figures and target years are nice to hang on the fridge, but somebody ought to say who's checking the work and how we'll know if it got done.
