A Pew Research survey of over 5,000 adults, conducted Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, found 63% of Democratic-leaning voters 'extremely motivated' to vote in the midterms, 17 points above Republicans. That gap runs the opposite direction from October 2022, when Republicans held a two-point motivation edge before taking the House.
The same poll put Trump's approval at 30%, his lowest of this term and barely above where he stood leaving office in January 2021. Among Republicans, only 39% say they're satisfied with the state of the country, down from 65% shortly after he took office, while 84% of all voters across both parties call the economy a very important issue heading into November.
