The Institute for the Study of War reported that a Ukrainian operation called Vivaldi, active in the Lyman sector, may be complicating Russian attempts to storm Slovyansk, citing Russian military bloggers who describe the situation as worsening.

Those bloggers reportedly acknowledged Ukrainian forces holding positions near Dibrova and Ozerne and pushing toward Pyskunivka and Mykolaivka, while Russian troops struggle with logistics along the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal.

ISW says Ukraine regained nearly 300 square kilometers from March through September, though it remains unclear whether Ukrainian forces have actually crossed the Siverskyi Donets River.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When the people telling you a plan is working are the enemy's own bloggers grumbling that it isn't, that is worth more than a press conference full of generals. Rivers and canals do not care what either side calls its operation. Watch what the mud does, not what the map says.
