Indiana floods kill 5 people: where are warnings still in place?

Days of heavy rain triggered flooding officials call the worst in parts of central Indiana in more than 30 years, killing at least six people including a 4-year-old boy, with fatalities spread across Delaware, Jennings, Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. The White River reached or approached record levels in Indianapolis, Noblesville, Anderson and other communities, with some readings exceeding benchmarks from the 1913 flood.

Indianapolis firefighters rescued 95 people and 45 pets in 51 water operations by Saturday afternoon, while more than 350 evacuations were reported in Delaware County alone. Major flood warnings remain in effect into the coming days along the White River and several tributaries, and President Trump has approved Indiana's emergency declaration request to free up federal assistance.
