Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps says it captured more than 250 Russian soldiers, including officers, pilots, and artillerymen, during the third phase of Operation Vivaldi in Donetsk Oblast.

The corps put enemy losses at 2,000 personnel and claimed the liberation of several settlements, including Nove, Ridkodub, and Katerynivka, bringing total reclaimed territory since the offensive began to 176 square kilometers.

Commander Andrii Biletskyi called the phase a turning point for the whole operation, a verdict delivered by the same command that is counting its own gains.

When the only scorekeeper is also a player in the game, the tally tends to look flattering.
