France’s Epstein probe identifies ‘potential recruiters’

Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said France's human trafficking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's network has identified new leads on “potential recruiters,” following the death of French modeling scout Daniel Siad before he could be questioned.

Beccuau said 26 victims have been identified so far, 13 of whom had not previously appeared in any related case, with investigators following threads toward New York, Saint-Tropez, and Cannes.

The probe follows the U.S. Justice Department's January release of additional Epstein files, and comes after French authorities separately dropped a case against former Elite modeling head Gerald Marie due to expired statute of limitations.

A network described by its own prosecutor as a labyrinth with dozens of threads is not a case anyone wraps up quickly, and the body count of dead witnesses along the way should worry more people than it seems to. Statutes of limitations expiring while new victims keep surfacing is its own quiet scandal. Justice delayed this long starts to look a lot like justice declined.
