Mykola Kuleba, founder of Save Ukraine, has been named on an informal shortlist of 2026 Nobel Peace Prize possibilities compiled by a researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, recognizing his work rescuing Ukrainian children taken or displaced by Russia's war. The list is not connected to the actual Nobel nominations, which the Committee keeps secret for half a century.
Also floated this year: the International Space Station partnership, the ICC and International Court of Justice jointly, Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and, reportedly, Donald Trump and Mark Carney. A total of 287 candidates were nominated this cycle; the winner is announced October 9 in Oslo, with prize money of about $1.2 million.
