A missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed 12 people, including one American, and wounded more than 200, with the Saudi-led coalition blaming Yemen's Houthis. A second projectile reportedly struck the terminal again on Sunday, while the Houthi-controlled airport in Sanaa was also hit. Trump says he is weighing both strikes on the Houthis and on Iran itself, and has floated resuming attacks he'd previously said he'd hold off until after the midterms.
Analysts quoted offer competing predictions: one expects Trump to seize the moment to hit Iranian oil refineries for maximum pressure, another expects he stays out entirely because the Houthis aren't hitting U.S. ships and Washington is short on munitions. Both agree that if the U.S. does step in, it would likely look like the inconclusive 2024-2025 bombing campaign.

When the options on the table are 'bomb Iran's oil refineries to cause hyperinflation' and 'do the same strikes that didn't work last time,' you start to wonder if anybody is actually picking from a menu or just reading the specials board out loud. A president who says he 'may' act and will 'look at it' isn't exactly radiating a plan. The one thing everybody seems to agree on is that whatever happens, the Houthis will still be standing there afterward, same as before.
