The White House published a page titled “The Real Cost of Socialism in America,” crediting itself with securing the border, unleashing energy, and right-sizing government, all in roughly one paragraph of uncontested self-praise.
The release then pivots to the Democratic Socialists of America, claiming the Council of Economic Advisers scored the group's policy proposals and found them ruinously expensive. No independent verification of the Council's methodology is offered; the report is described, not shown, beyond a link to a summary of itself.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When a man tells you he weighed his neighbor's hog and it came out ruinous, you'd like to see the scale. The White House scored somebody else's plans and then linked to its own summary as proof, which is about like vouching for your pie by pointing at the pie. Maybe the Council's numbers are fine. Nobody outside the building has been allowed to check.
