One Nation, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit aligned with Senate Majority Leader John Thune and tied to the Senate Leadership Fund super PAC, has spent more than $148 million on ads this midterm cycle, according to AdImpact, exceeding its 2024 total. Because it is a nonprofit rather than a PAC, it discloses no donors and files only annual tax returns, which showed more than $170 million in contributions during the 2024 cycle.
One Nation has given at least $70.7 million to the Senate Leadership Fund PAC this cycle and spent heavily in Ohio, Maine and Georgia Senate races, plus at least 10 mailers boosting Maine's Susan Collins. A FactCheck.org review found one of its ads cherry-picked provisions of a 2025 law to distort a Democratic senator's record.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Nobody outside the building knows who wrote the checks that paid for $148 million of ads, and that is not an accident, it is the business model. The group that fact-checked one of its ads found it distorted the record, which is the sort of thing that happens when the people paying never have to put their name on it. Dark money doesn't pick a party, it just picks whichever side can afford the lawyers to keep the lights off.
