The NATO Military Committee, representing all 32 alliance members, visited Kyiv on Oct. 6 for the first time in eight years, meeting Ukraine's military chief Mykhailo Drapatyi to discuss frontline conditions and further support, Committee Chair Adm. Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said.
The delegation toured a memorial to fallen Ukrainian soldiers and received an updated briefing on the war, following a June visit by NATO's political leadership.
Meanwhile U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Ukraine's NATO membership remains 'not on the table,' consistent with President Trump's repeated statements that it will not happen, leaving the symbolic visit without the alliance's central promise attached.

Thirty-two generals show up, lay a wreath, talk tough about sabotage and cyberattacks, and fly home having delivered exactly zero change to the one thing Kyiv actually wants, a membership card. It's the diplomatic version of a neighbor stopping by to admire your busted fence and tell you how much he supports fences in general.
