U.S. Military Says It Killed 4 In Strike On Alleged Drug-Smuggling Boat In The Caribbean

The U.S. military struck a boat in the Caribbean Sea it said was smuggling drugs, killing four people, bringing the total killed in such strikes to at least 227 across 68 strikes over roughly a year. U.S. Southern Command described the target as being along a known smuggling route but, as in most such statements, offered no evidence the vessel was carrying drugs.

The strike came two days after a similar attack in the eastern Pacific killed two people, following a two-month pause in the campaign.
