Wind power works great right up until the air stands still, which is the sort of problem you would think gets planned around after the first few hundred times it happens. A grid that bets heavily on weather needs a backup plan as sturdy as the bet itself. Calling it an alert rather than a crisis is a nice bit of restraint, but the lights do not care what you call it.
