Yurok village dispute

A federal court in California dismissed civil rights claims the Yurok tribe brought against the city of Trinidad over its stewardship of Tsurai, a Yurok village site the city owns. The tribe alleged the city's management plan disrespected their culture and that officials failed to properly consult with them.

The court found no evidence of bad faith by the city and no violation of the National Historic Preservation Program Act, ending the claims without addressing whether the underlying complaints about tone or process were fair.
