Former Lil Durk assistant Kavon Grant testified Monday in the rapper's federal murder-for-hire trial that Durk Banks 'told us to' kill rival rapper Quando Rondo, naming Banks and co-defendants David Lindsey and Deondre Wilson as participants in the 2022 shooting. Three masked shooters sprayed Rondo's car outside a West Hollywood gas station, missing Rondo but killing his 24-year-old cousin, Saviay'a Robinson.

Shooter-turned-witness Keith Jones testified he was told 'bro got a million for us' before flying to Los Angeles, and that Banks later made a gun gesture and said 'you shoulda got up close on him' when Jones asked about payment. Jones said he was ultimately offered $10,000 through an associate and never received even that, despite asking repeatedly.

Prosecutors say the shooting was retaliation for the 2020 killing of rapper King Von, a Banks associate, by a cousin of Rondo's, and that Banks effectively offered a bounty that frustrated gang members eventually acted on. Under cross-examination, Jones admitted he initially lied to the FBI and blamed Grant, saying his story changed only after an agent warned him he faced life without parole.
