Russian forces struck a passenger train bound for Kherson with several Shahed drones on Sept. 5, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin. Two locomotives were damaged and a 55-year-old railway worker was hospitalized in moderate condition with an arm injury, concussion, blast injuries and a closed head injury.

The attack followed a pattern of recent strikes in the region, including drone hits on a civilian taxi and a minibus in Kherson that injured several people, including children. The Ukrainian Air Force had warned of jet-powered drones heading toward Kherson around noon the same day.
