Russian overnight strike heavily damages Kyiv high school, residential buildings

A Russian overnight strike on August 27 heavily damaged a high school in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district and blew out windows at a nearby clinic, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. Debris also fell between residential buildings in the Podilskyi district, with additional damage reported in the Desnianskyi and Obolonskyi districts.

No casualties were reported in Kyiv, according to Klitschko, though the drone strike was part of a broader overnight barrage that hit Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, and the Poltava and Sumy regions. In Kryvyi Rih, a strike on an industrial facility injured at least two people. Investigators are documenting the damage as part of a war crimes investigation.
