Zelensky announces new Ukrainian long-range operations in response to Russian strikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he approved “new long-range operations in response to Russian strikes” after meeting with Armed Forces commander Mykhailo Drapatyi and Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara, according to his Telegram channel.

He said Ukraine is “preparing to expand” its long-range capabilities, without further specifics.

The announcement follows a similar June 2026 pledge of a 40-day influence campaign, during which Ukraine struck warehouses and oil infrastructure while Russia escalated its own ballistic missile strikes.
