Ukrainian drones struck the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug for the first time, according to Governor Dmitry Artyukhov, hitting an industrial facility in Novy Urengoy roughly 2,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. A fire broke out from falling drone debris, but no deaths or injuries were reported.

A presidential envoy said a drone had targeted a fuel and energy facility in the region, which produces about 80% of Russia’s natural gas. The independent outlet Agentstvo called it Ukraine’s deepest strike inside Russia to date.
