Winter evacuations from Kyiv would be a “last resort” measure — PM

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said evacuating residents of major cities like Kyiv ahead of winter would be a last resort, telling TSN that officials should instead arrange care in advance for people with limited mobility.

He said he had discussed the issue with Kyiv's mayor, that the number of such residents is known, and that alternative housing must be secured before winter arrives.

Koretskyi also said Ukraine enters this heating season better prepared than last year, even as Russia has built up stockpiles of jet-powered drones and missiles aimed at winter infrastructure strikes.
