Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius told the Warsaw Security Forum that more Ukrainian strikes on Russian data centers could help protect European elections from interference, while also calling for greater European defense investment and security cooperation with Kyiv. He named air defense, drone protection and countering hybrid threats as top priorities for Lithuania and NATO.
The remarks followed a four-day span in which Ukrainian drones struck three Yandex data centers in Russia, services that reportedly remain down, with repairs expected to take about six months partly due to sanctions and a global computing-hardware shortage.

Asking how to protect an election and getting an answer about blowing up a server farm is the kind of logic that only makes sense once a war has been going on long enough. It is not wrong, exactly, just a reminder of how far normal politics has drifted from anything that fits in a campaign brochure. Six months and a parts shortage to fix a data center is a cost somebody is going to feel, even if it is not the one holding the drone.
