A Tu-95MS strategic bomber crashed near the village of Krasnoyarovo in Russia's Amur region on Sept. 29, killing all eight officers aboard, according to the independent outlet Mediazona, which obtained the full crew list after an OSINT analyst spotted a memorial announcement on a local community page.
Initial reports had said six crew members died during what was described as a training flight from the Ukrainka air base; Mediazona's verification found two more had also been aboard, possibly as inspectors or passengers, and that all eight had served in strategic aviation.
Three of the dead, Major Andrey Lobanov, Major Andrey Gerasimov and Lieutenant Colonel Fyodor Pavlyukov, were previously named by the Ukrainian project 'Book of Executioners' as participants in or organizers of missile strikes on Ukrainian territory. The Insider notes Ukrainka has become a key long-range aviation base since Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb, with combat sorties now running roughly 23 hours round trip.
