President Trump, asked about Irish reunification during a visit to Dublin, said a united Ireland was going to happen eventually and it might as well happen now. Pressed on UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham's position that any referendum needs majority support first, Trump abruptly pivoted to praising Burnham for supposedly resuming North Sea drilling and stopping wind turbines.
Trump claimed a windmill near a house renders it practically valueless and said turbine blades cannot be buried because they cause problems in the earth. His opposition to wind power dates back roughly two decades to a lawsuit he filed and lost over an offshore wind farm near his Scottish golf resort.
Since returning to office, Trump has halted an 80%-complete offshore wind project near Rhode Island and paid a French company $1 billion to abandon two offshore wind leases.

A grudge that old deserves its own mailbox and a place at the table. The man lost a lawsuit over a view from his golf course two decades back and has been collecting on it ever since, only now the bill goes to a wind project that was nearly finished and to taxpayers footing a billion dollars to make two leases disappear. Ask him about Ireland, get the windmills. That's not confusion, that's a man who only knows one song.
