Russian forces struck infrastructure in Kropyvnytskyi overnight on September 17, according to regional governor Andriy Raykovych, with more than a dozen explosions reported between 5:55 and 6:18 a.m. local time.

A yellow-level air raid alert had been issued hours earlier, and the Ukrainian Air Force tracked drones approaching from multiple directions before the strikes landed. The attack came the same night Russia launched a separate missile and drone barrage on Kyiv, damaging buildings across three districts and injuring at least 18 people.
