President Trump delivered remarks at the Pentagon's 9/11 ceremony Friday while skipping the New York remembrance, the only living president absent from that event, and spent the afternoon on a Truth Social posting spree that included a UFC fight montage, election-win footage, a January 6th clip, and complaints about criticism of his promised $5,000 dividend.

Vice President Vance attended the New York ceremony in his place. None of the posts documented in the timeline referenced the 9/11 attacks themselves, even as the country marked the 25th anniversary of nearly 3,000 deaths.

The New York Times had reported in August that Trump was originally slated to attend the ceremony but withdrew partly because organizers would not let him speak, having barred political remarks since 2012 to preserve the ceremony's tone.

A man who won't come to the service because they won't hand him the microphone has told you exactly what the service is for, at least to him. Everybody else in that crowd stood there for an hour without saying a word, and somehow they managed. The rest of the country got through the day fine without hearing about a fight montage.
