Forbes reports that a 96% partial lunar eclipse will cross North America, South America, Europe and Africa on the night of Aug. 27-28, turning the moon a deep reddish-orange without reaching full totality.

Maximum eclipse occurs at 12:12 a.m. EDT on Aug. 28, with the Americas positioned to view the roughly five-and-a-half-hour event start to finish, no special equipment required.
