All three lines of Kyiv's metro stopped running during the evening rush hour on October 8, along with every escalator in the system. City Hall attributed it to a drop in voltage from external power sources, while local Telegram channels reported trams and trolleybuses also halted.

No Russian strikes on Kyiv's energy infrastructure were reported that day, leaving the cause of the voltage drop unexplained.
