Chelsea is reportedly still interested in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to Spanish outlet MARCA citing anonymous sources, four years after losing out on signing him the first time.

Kounde has lost his starting spot to Eric Garcia at Barcelona and hasn't played for France under new manager Zinedine Zidane, despite having a contract in Catalonia through 2030.

The piece notes Barcelona could use any sale proceeds to fund other squad needs, while Chelsea's interest persists despite Kounde's apparent decline.

A rumor about a rumor, sourced to unnamed people who told a newspaper what a club might want. The transfer window isn't even open and somebody's already printing the fan fiction. Somewhere a Chelsea supporter is nodding along like this settles anything.
