Rajkummar Rao's courtroom drama Prahaar has been pushed from its original August 7 release to October 16, putting it in direct competition with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 and Dhanush's Om on the same day.
The delay has also left Rao's other film, Raftaar, without a release date, since Prahaar has now claimed the October 16 slot Raftaar previously held. Prahaar, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films and directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware, dramatizes lawyer Ujjwal Nikam's prosecution of Ajmal Kasab and stars Rao alongside Wamiqa Gabbi.
Jailer 2 brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian alongside Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Mithun Chakraborty, riding the momentum of its 2023 predecessor.
