Ukraine strikes repair unit, depots and troop concentrations

Ukraine's General Staff says its forces struck Russian personnel concentrations near Purdivka, Lysychansk and Irmino, a repair unit near Chystiakove, and supply depots near Makiivka and Horodyshche over Oct. 10 and 11. The military called it systematic pressure on Russian logistics and combat potential, and said the damage has not been independently verified.

The report follows days of similar claimed strikes: command posts near Peremozhne and Dokuchaievsk, an electronic warfare station in Russia's Bryansk Oblast, a sergeants' training center near Khorly, and assorted fuel and ammunition depots.

As of Oct. 11, Ukraine's General Staff put total Russian personnel losses since 2022 at about 1,552,840, including 1,930 in the prior 24 hours, a figure that, like the rest, has not been independently verified.

Every one of these dispatches ends with the same two words, not independently verified, tucked in like a disclaimer on a used lottery ticket. That doesn't make the claims false, it just means you shouldn't carve them in stone before somebody besides the people making the claim gets a look. A running tally that only ever goes up and is never checked by an outsider is a strange thing to call an estimate.
