The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. forces fired 60 to 70 Patriot interceptors plus more than a dozen THAAD interceptors to stop about 20 Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at a base in Jordan, a volume officials said normally covers a full week elsewhere in the conflict.
Iran's use of warheads that split into multiple projectiles on approach made the barrage harder to intercept, and despite no U.S. deaths, Iranian missiles struck aircraft at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base.
By mid-July the U.S. had expended roughly 1,700 Patriot interceptors and over 200 THAAD interceptors in the war, with officials warning PAC-3 and ATACMS stocks in Europe are critically low and could take years to rebuild, a shortage now rippling into Gulf states' defenses and Ukraine's.

Zelensky wants a hundred Patriot missiles a month to get through a winter, and the United States is burning through that many in a single week fighting somewhere else entirely. That's not a coincidence you can wave away with a press conference, that's a warehouse running on fumes while three different wars ask for the same forklift. Somebody in procurement is going to have a very long few years explaining the math on this one.
