The White House says August added 162,000 jobs, triple what economists expected, and claims the private sector has created over one million jobs under President Trump. The release attributes this to a 'reindustrialization agenda' supposedly driving manufacturing and factory construction hiring, quoting spokesman Kush Desai calling it proof of 'historic investment.'

Any outfit can tell you it beat expectations if it never says who was expecting what, or how last year went, or how many people quit looking for work altogether. And promising the best is yet to come costs nothing at all, which is roughly what it's worth.
