One in three members of Russia’s new State Duma has ties to the war in Ukraine. Some are accused of war crimes. Here’s who they are — and what they’ve done.

Russia's newly elected State Duma includes at least 148 lawmakers with documented ties to the war in Ukraine, roughly a third of the chamber, according to Meduza's review of preliminary results. United Russia, which won more than three-quarters of the seats, first announced 86 'war participants' on its ticket, then deleted that claim and revised it down to 49 after the number spread through news agencies.

Meduza found that the 'war participant' label often rests on shaky ground: some deputies never claimed combat service at all, having earned the designation through humanitarian supply runs or administrative posts in occupied territory. Others, like Dmitry Sablin, publicly described constant frontline presence while flight records placed him on a resort trip to Antalya during the period in question.
