Unionized nurses at Henry Ford Genesys hospital in Genesee County, Michigan, are marking one year on the picket line since walking out last Labor Day. Talks remain stalled over nurse-to-patient ratios and seniority, with the National Labor Relations Board previously dismissing allegations that the hospital failed to bargain in good faith.

Henry Ford Health says it is grateful to the 2,500 employees, including more than 350 nurses, who worked through or joined during the strike, and says it continues to work toward an agreement. Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien has rallied with strikers repeatedly, at one point accusing hospital officials of having “chronic disease called LIE-abetes.”
