Parents of 14-year-old girl sue musician D4vd over daughter’s death

The parents of Celeste Rivas Hernandez have filed a civil suit against musician David Burke, known as D4vd, alleging sexual battery, human trafficking, false imprisonment and wrongful death connected to their daughter's killing. Burke, who faces a murder charge and has pleaded not guilty, remains held without bond in Los Angeles.

The suit alleges the relationship began when Hernandez was 13, involved thousands of texts and repeated sexual contact, and ended when Burke killed her after she threatened to expose it, then concealed the death for months. A judge already found probable cause in July for Burke to stand trial on the murder charge, and prosecutors have said they're weighing the death penalty.
