Russian forces launch 165 drones in overnight attack against Ukraine

Russian forces launched 165 Shahed, jet-powered Shahed, Gerbera and Parodiya decoy drones against Ukraine overnight on September 28, with air defenses shooting down or neutralizing 112 of them by 7 a.m., according to Ukraine's Air Force. Drones struck 14 locations, and debris from intercepted drones fell in seven others.

A strike on Kyiv's Stolychnyi market killed two people and wounded nearly ten more, while attacks also hit an apartment building, office buildings and a gas station across three Kyiv districts, wounding three minors. Russian guided bombs separately struck Kharkiv's Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, hitting a residential high-rise and wounding at least 25 people.
