Norway’s prime minister says Zelensky’s plane nearly collided with drone en route from Moldova to Oslo

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's plane nearly collided with a drone while taking off from Moldova en route to Oslo, where Zelensky was traveling to attend the funeral of King Harald V.

Støre offered no details on the drone's origin, how close it actually came, or how his office learned of it at all. His office's statement repeated the vagueness almost word for word: a threat existed, it delayed the flight, nobody knows how close it got.

Separately, Russian drones struck a border checkpoint in Ukraine's Odesa region overnight, about a two-hour drive from the airport Zelensky departed from, though no link between the two events has been established.

A prime minister says a president's plane almost got hit by a drone, then shrugs when asked whose drone it was. That is a strange way to deliver alarming news, like a neighbor telling you there is a bear in your yard and then walking off before you can ask which direction it went.
