A Russian strike overnight into Sept. 17 damaged the Mykilska Slobidka commuter station on Kyiv's ring line, forcing trains onto a limited loop, while a separate drone strike badly damaged the station building in Berestyn. Ukrainian Railways said repairs to the Kyiv damage should take about a day, and some long-distance trains are being rerouted, adding roughly six hours to travel times.

The wider assault involved ballistic missiles, jet-powered drones, and other munitions hitting 36 locations, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhya oblasts, and left 16 people injured in Kyiv, including two children. Strikes also hit facilities belonging to the capital's water utility, briefly cutting service before crews restored it.
