There is a particular species of joy in watching a head of state retweet a compliment about himself and add nothing but “Wow!” — as if he had stumbled across the phrase in a fortune cookie rather than a friendly broadcast. Note the construction: not that he leads a counter revolution, or started one, but that he simply IS one, a man and a historical process fused into a single proper noun.
