Somewhere in the federal government there is a machine that can announce a war, and today it was used to read out a guest list. The exclamation point is doing heroic work here, insisting that a helicopter ride is news; the signature at the bottom is doing even more, as though the post might otherwise be mistaken for a note from a different President Donald J. Trump. Nobody is harmed by this, which is exactly why it belongs on a page about what the office now spends its bandwidth on. The taxpayers own the aircraft; apparently they also get the souvenir caption.
