The post presents itself as a correction to a television news report about negotiations with Iran. The desk confirms it was published as written, signature and all.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Nobody who truly could not care less has ever needed five sentences and a signature to establish it. The boast is built to be unfalsifiable — control of a strait is asserted rather than demonstrated, an economy is declared collapsed by press release, and the whole thing is filed under inevitability so no future event can ever contradict it. Then comes the tell: the closing question, in which the President of the United States, from the safety of a keyboard, assigns the actual fighting to civilians in another country who did not apply for the job. Ending a diplomatic posture with a request that strangers get shot at is not strength, and initialing it does not make it a policy.
