Note the tell: the disputed finding is not rebutted, it is sued, and the suit is “being drawn now,” which is the legal equivalent of a dog eating the homework in advance. A president who genuinely had the crime numbers would simply post the crime numbers; instead we get a donor roster read aloud like a bill of indictment, as though a grant from a foundation were a confession. And the closing flourish — liars “must be held accountable” — is not a standard of evidence, it is a threat with a gavel drawn on it in crayon. The office of the presidency is not a defamation firm, and disagreement on television is not a crime, however furiously the dissent is alleged to have gone.
