The logic here runs on a closed loop: the press said it would ignore him, the press showed up where the press shows up, and both facts are proof of derangement — theirs, naturally. Calling a working journalist ‘sleazebag,’ ‘sick,’ and ‘treasonous’ in one breath is not criticism, it is a menu of accusations thrown at a wall, and ‘treasonous’ is a word with a legal meaning that does not cover asking questions at the United Nations. Note also the stray complaint about a ‘totally disloyal’ judge, which quietly assumes judges are supposed to be loyal to someone — a sentiment the founders wrote an entire branch of government to prevent. The addiction diagnosis may be accurate; it is simply pointed in the wrong direction, since only one person in this exchange is writing about the other in all capitals.
