Observe the accounting: the project was under budget, and also expensive, and also a gift, three claims that cannot comfortably share a sentence unless no one is permitted to ask who paid. The critics are quoted admiring it, which is convenient, because they are not named and therefore cannot be checked — the enemies in this genre exist only to be impressed. As for a surface that will never crack or be defaced, EVER, we note that granite outlasting a million years is the least surprising thing in the post; the surprising thing is a sitting president spending his attention on hinges and asphalt thickness while describing the work as something done in his spare time.
