A car belonging to Dmitry Neelov, first deputy head of the Olenivka penal colony, was reportedly blown up overnight in occupied Donetsk, according to Ukrainian outlets citing sources; it's unclear if Neelov was hurt. Neelov was charged by Ukraine's SBU this spring with war crimes tied to the July 2022 missile strike on the colony that killed 53 Ukrainian POWs, an attack Ukraine and Russia each blame on the other.

The colony's former head, Sergey Yevsyukov, was killed in a nearly identical car bombing in Donetsk in December 2024; Russia's FSB said it detained a suspect. Ukrainian investigators accuse Neelov and Yevsyukov of deliberately delaying medical evacuation of wounded prisoners after the strike.
