The Trump administration is appealing to the First Circuit after U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani reinstated a two-week freeze on a Postal Service rule restricting mail-in voting, undoing the brief reprieve the Supreme Court had granted the administration on Monday.

Democrat-led states and voting rights groups refiled suits this week arguing the rule oversteps into states' election administration, arrives too close to the midterms, and would disenfranchise mail voters. The administration maintains the rule only concerns federal mail handling and will 'help secure elections,' without offering evidence that mail-voting fraud is a significant problem.

The full dispatch is available from the source below.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
An administration that insists its mail rule has nothing to do with elections is nonetheless sprinting to a federal appeals court to make sure it takes effect before one. If the evidence for fraud existed, presumably it would have been mentioned by now instead of the vibes.
