A Moscow military court sentenced Oleksii Arestovych, a former adviser to Ukraine's presidential chief of staff, to 11 years in prison in absentia, following a single-day closed-door trial reported by Mediazona. The case centered on 2022 videos in which Arestovych called for rail sabotage against Russia and commented on a Russian strike on Kramatorsk's train station.

The court found him guilty of spreading 'fake' claims about the Russian military and inciting terrorism. Arestovych, who resigned his Ukrainian post in 2023 and left the country, is separately facing two Ukrainian criminal cases and was sanctioned by President Zelensky in May 2025.
