✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
The sitting President has declared a man guilty of a crime and missing in the same breath, which saves time on both the investigation and the trial. Then, having lost track of one suspect, he helpfully names four people he can find, ranking them as ‘in a certain way’ far worse, a legal standard not yet recognized by any court in the land. When the head of the executive branch publishes a list of private citizens he calls criminals, it is not a tip line; it is a target list with a sign-off. ‘Levels never thought possible before’ is an oddly precise description of the post itself.
