Sharing a name is not fraud under any law a wire editor has heard of. It is what happens when two sets of parents like the same name. Crowning someone the best senator in a state’s history is a boast that needs no evidence because none could settle it, and ‘running under protest’ is less a campaign strategy than a mood. If identical names on a ballot are the crisis, the post already supplied the fix in the form of a middle initial; the thanks for our attention is noted, though the attention was not exactly volunteered.
