Few endorsements arrive with the excuse for losing already stapled to them, but here the blame is assigned before a single general-election ballot is cast. The villains are somehow so weak and ineffective they never laid a glove on him, yet so powerful they could single-handedly sink a Senate race; pick one. Making the case for one candidate by reciting his own county map, sourced to the same network he says one critic shouldn't be allowed on, is less an argument than a mirror with a byline. And ‘sometimes referred to as’ is a lovely touch, given that the person doing the referring is the one holding the phone.
